The Voice Recorder is a short narrative film about the immigrant experience within academic environment. The film explores a day in the life of an Iranian film student and few of her racial encounters in Los Angeles.

Structure
Visually the film is for the most part shot with a handheld camera that is either observing actions through long shots or staying put with the protagonist.
The story conveys a day in the life of an immigrant student with more focus on her subjective point of view and state of mind.
Main Ideas
Story-wise the film conveys the fact that we are very good lawyers for our own mistakes and very good judges for the mistakes of others
Shot during the second term of Obama's presidency, if looked closely, one can find many parallels that suggest commentary on sociopolitical climate of that era.
Execution
The film was shot over the course of four days across the greater Los Angeles area. The cast was entirely professional and the crew mostly consist of film school students.
Post production including editing and color was done in house at High Gadfly studio. Sound design was as usual a Magic Sound Studio magic.
